A good question can do what a long list of instructions can’t: change what we notice.
Lately, I’ve been collecting questions that help me see my work differently. Not clever questions. Simple ones that make it harder to run on autopilot.
Three I’m keeping
- What am I assuming here?
- What would make this useful to one specific person?
- What is the part I haven’t actually tested?
None of these provides an answer on its own. That’s the point. They create a little room between the first thought and the next action.
Take one into the week
Try bringing a single question into a project or conversation. See what changes when you listen for the answer instead of defending the plan.
